I am not Khmer but I have always been intrigued and interested in the Khmer culture.

Is there anyone that will be willing to teach me how to speak Khmer? I would really like to learn.....

I say that because I want to be honest about it. Yes I have always been interested in the Khmer culture. When I was younger, I grew up around a lot of Khmer, Lao, and Vietnamese friends. But it was the Khmer culture that always seemed to captivate me. I like when my one friends mom would always tell us stories... folklore Im guessing. I also remember her good cooking tooo! =) I also like Khmer arts... such as fine arts and Khmer dance. And I also like the music even though some if it I can not understand, LOL.....

Of course, this was years ago and some of those friends from school have moved away or what seems like disappeared from the planet, LOL. Im online a lot for school now and also Facebook and I found this site so I thought it would be interesting to make some new Khmer friends or any other nationality that is on here.

Yes "Soriya Mihnea" is a Khmer name. I chose this name to use because it represents my name. In English (from England), my name is derived from the meaning "day's eye" (which would be the sun = "Soriya"). "Mihnea" as I have found represents that I was born in the month of March. This according to a few websites that list names and their meanings.
