i'm a new comer here. i find that this is a very good website containing lots of things about khmer. but i think i have some suggestion for you to consider, n i hope u wouldn't get angry with that. my purpose is only to improve this site.

i can see that u sometimes write khmer sentences with english alphabets, n sometimes u write with khmer alphabets. i find it hard to read sometimes. i will be very happy n thankful if u write khmer sentences with khmer alphabets, n english sentences or words with english alphabets.

hope this website become more n more popular to cambodian people n foreigners who r interested in khmer.

You need to learn how to write and read in khmer-english. I know it's very hard sometimes to read these mixing senteces. However, you need to take times to study this new lanugage because it's an easier way to communicate with various people. Some people don't speak english and other also don't speak french. Therefore, the only way that we can communicate is that we need to practice how to write and read in khmer-english.

I found out myself that it was hard for the first time, but you will learn later on and understand when people are chatting about. It just needs times to practice and require physically chatting with other people.

Hello happy_yarol!

It's not easy to understand the form of the language we're using here, commonly known here as "khmerlish". I feel your pain because I, myself, have been through the complications of reading Khmer but in English forms. It will take a while, though may not long if you interested, to get by. I hope you'll find yourself more convenient to read and write to us in this form than in Khmer, English, French, etc. in the short future.

There, as our previous members have brought up above, are many reasons why we don't often use any specific language as the main method to communicate here. As you may know, all members here in LK reside in different parts of the world, and subsequently we don't speak the same language for our every-day lives. The only thing we know is that most, though may not be all, members here have Cambodian backgrounds. So we perhaps know how to speak and listen to Khmer, but not necessarily true that we all can write in Khmer. Therefore, we can't write in Khmer. One more thing, if we choose to write in English completely, some people living in non-English speaking areas may not understand.

Don't be hesitated to try writing it. This form of language has no official standard. Thus there's no perfect way of spelling words; we only need to spell to make it sound like Khmer word, then other members will understand by the help from the whole contact of the sentence. Nevertheless you may, if you wish, write in Khmer/English/French/German (whatever you prefer) completely. But just sure you know that if you do so, your audience will be very few.

My personal opinion about your idea, I think it's great! But unfortunately it doesn't work here, at least for now. Perhaps, and hopefully, it will be better here in the short future.
